Palletizing

We turn loose cartons into stable, strapped and wrapped pallets that move as one unit.

What it is

Palletizing, in plain terms

Palletizing means stacking cartons on a pallet and securing them with straps and stretch wrap. The pallet is then handled by forklift as a single unit. Fewer loose pieces means less handling, less chance of a carton going missing, and quicker acceptance at the airport.

How a pallet is built matters. Heavy cartons go at the bottom, the load stays inside the edges of the pallet, and the finished height has to suit the aircraft it is booked on.

When you need it

When you are sending several cartons to one destination, when the goods are heavy, or when the airline or your consignee asks for palletized cargo.

What we do

How we handle it

  1. Build a stable pallet from your cartons

  2. Strap and stretch-wrap it

  3. Label it for the shipment

  4. Measure and weigh the finished pallet for the booking

Questions

Common questions

Does palletizing change the chargeable weight?

Yes. The pallet adds weight and can add to the dimensions, and both count towards chargeable weight. We give you the finished figures.

What is ISPM 15?

It is the international standard for wood packaging used in trade. Many countries require wooden pallets and crates to be treated and stamped to this standard. Tell us the destination and we will advise on the pallets to use.
