Air Waybill (AWB) Processing

We prepare and check the air waybill, the document every air shipment travels on.

What it is

Air Waybill (AWB) Processing, in plain terms

The air waybill (AWB) is the transport document for an air shipment. It is the contract of carriage between the shipper and the airline, the receipt for the goods, and the reference that identifies the shipment from origin to destination. It is not a document of title and is not negotiable.

Small errors on an AWB cause large delays. A wrong consignee address or a weight that does not match the cargo can hold a shipment at either end.

When you need it

Every air shipment needs an air waybill.

What we do

How we handle it

  1. Prepare the air waybill from your details

  2. Check it against your invoice and packing list

  3. Send you a copy to check before it is final

  4. Issue the air waybill for the shipment

Questions

Common questions

What is the difference between a master and a house air waybill?

A master air waybill (MAWB) covers a whole consignment with the airline. A house air waybill (HAWB) is issued by a freight forwarder to an individual shipper whose goods travel within that consignment.

What other documents will I need?

Usually a commercial invoice and a packing list. Depending on the goods and the destination, you may also need permits, licences or certificates. We tell you what applies once we know what you are sending.
