House Air Waybill (HAWB) Processing

When your goods travel as part of a larger consignment, the house air waybill is the document that covers your share of it.

What it is

House Air Waybill (HAWB) Processing, in plain terms

A house air waybill (HAWB) is issued by a freight forwarder for one shipper's goods when several shipments travel together under a single master air waybill. Each shipper receives their own HAWB showing their own shipper and consignee details, pieces and weight.

At destination, the HAWB is what the receiving agent uses to identify and release your goods from the consolidated consignment.

When you need it

When your cargo is consolidated with other shipments, or when the forwarder is the party contracting with the airline on your behalf.

What we do

How we handle it

  1. Prepare the house air waybill for your goods

  2. Make sure it agrees with the master air waybill

  3. Send you a copy to check

  4. Give you the final copies for your records and your consignee

Questions

Common questions

Do I need both a master and a house air waybill?

If your goods travel in a consolidation, the master covers the whole consignment and your house air waybill covers your part of it. You deal with the house air waybill.

Will my consignee need the HAWB?

Yes. They will usually need it, along with the invoice and packing list, to clear and collect the goods. Requirements vary by country.
